Bacterial Biofertilizers for Sustainable Crop Production: a Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
The most important constraint limiting crop yield in developing nations worldwide, and especially among resource-poor farmers, is soil infertility. Therefore, maintaining soil quality can reduce the problems of land degradation, decreasing soil fertility and rapidly declining production levels that occur in large parts of the world needing the basic principles of good farming practice. Minerals, organic components and microorganisms are three major solid components of the soil. They profoundly affect the physical, chemical, and biological properties and processes of terrestrial systems. Biofertilizer are the products containing cell of different types of beneficial microorganisms. Thus, biofertilizers can be important components of integrated nutrients management. Organisms that are commonly used as biofertilizers component are nitrogen fixers (N-fixer), solubilizer (K-solubilizer) and phosphorus solubilizer (Psolubilizer), or with the combination of molds or fungi. These potential biological fertilizers would play key role in productivity and sustainability of soil and also protect the environment as eco-friendly and cost effective inputs for the farmers. With using the biological and organic fertilizers, a low input system can be carried out and it can be help achieving sustainability of farms.

Role of bacterial biofertilizers in agriculture and forestry
Many rhizospheric bacterial strains possess plant growth-promoting mechanisms. These bacteria can be applied as biofertilizers in agriculture and forestry, enhancing crop yields. Bacterial biofertilizers can improve plant growth through several different mechanisms: (i) the synthesis of plant nutrients or phytohormones, which can be absorbed by plants, (ii) the mobilization of soil compounds, m...

متن کاملThe Combined Use of Chemical and Organic Fertilizers And/or Biofertilizer for Crop Growth and Soil Fertility
Plant nutrients are essential for the production of crops and healthy food for the world’s expanding population. Plant nutrients are therefore a vital component of sustainable agriculture. Increased crop production largely relies on the type of fertilizers used to supplement essential nutrients for plants. The nature and the characteristics of nutrient release of chemical, organic and biofertil...

Microorganisms are major key players for sustaining the soil quality degraded by intensive use of synthetic chemicals for increasing crop production and therefore, use of them as inoculants or biofertilizers is an integral part of sustainable agriculture. An effort was, therefore, made to examine the effect of cellulose degrading bacterial isolates on legume (Chickpea) based cropping systems. N...
